British Olympic mountain bike gold medallist Tom Pidcock completed his transition to the road on Thursday, winning the Alpe d’Huez stage of the Tour de France on Bastille Day for Ineos Grenadiers.
Pidcock survived a breakaway that included four-time Tour de France winner Chris Froome, who put in his most significant ride since landing in hospital after coming unstuck on a training ride in 2019.
