Leicester City star Wesley Fofana has made it clear he would be interested in joining Chelsea amid rumoured interest from Thomas Tuchel’s side. Fofana has caught the eye with his impressive performances for the Foxes and has been linked with a move away from the club in 2022.
The 20-year-old defender joined Leicester on a five-year contract from Saint-Etienne for £36.5million in September last year.
He immediately looked like an inspired signing, making 38 appearances in all competitions in his debut campaign as the Foxes finished fifth in the Premier League and won the FA Cup.
However, his progress with Leicester has been curtailed by a serious injury, meaning Fofana has not played this season.

That has not stopped the transfer rumours and Foot Mercato says Chelsea have earmarked Fofana as a potential replacement for Antonio Rudiger.
Rudiger is out of contract in the summer and is yet to sign an extension amid rumoured interest from a whole host of other clubs.
Whether a move for Fofana comes to fruition or not, Chelsea will be interested to hear what the centre-back said during a discussion on Twitter Spaces on Wednesday night.
“I have been a Marseille fan since I was born,” Fofana said when discussing dream moves.

“Marseille, it is a dream. We don’t know what is waiting for us in football.
“There is Marseille, Real Madrid, Barcelona. In the Premier League, Chelsea, Man United, Man City… but you have to work to achieve your dreams. Through work, you can succeed in it all.”
Fofana has regularly posted updates and video clips on his social media accounts to update fans on his rehabilitation from injury.
Leicester have not put a time frame on his comeback from injury, but manager Brendan Rodgers did give a rough idea in August.
“He won’t play again until 2022,” Rodgers said following the Foxes’ 1-0 Community Shield win over Manchester City.
Chelsea remain hopeful that Rudiger will sign a new contract with the team, having become a key part of the defender under Tuchel.
However, the details of that deal remain a bone of contention between the two parties and Real Madrid and Bayern Munich have both shown interest in the German international, who will be free to discuss a free transfer in January.
“For now I am only concentrating on what is happening right now,” Rudiger said this week.
“I owe that to the club, the coach and the team. I’m currently only focused on Chelsea. We’ll see what happens.”
