Despite playing Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon, Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has flown out to America to watch the final day at the Masters.
Spurs beat Villa 4-0 earlier in the weekend in a display that moved them three points clear of fifth-placed Arsenal. Heung-Min Son scored a hat-trick against Steven Gerrard’s side, with Dejan Kulusevski also continuing his good run of form with a goal.
And although Kane didn’t add to his goal tally for the season, Kane did impress with his creativity and hold up play. The striker assisted two goals and was also integral in the build-up play of Antonio Conte’s team.
But the match didn’t prevent Kane from tapping into his hobbies as he was interviewed in the Sky Sports Studio at the Augusta National course just 24 hours after the full-time whistle sounded in Birmingham.
Speaking about one of his favourite pastimes, Kane said: “Sometimes when I'm on the first tee in front of a crowd I'll get more nervous than what I do when I'm playing football so just appreciating what they're doing. I mean when you see some of the holes and the slopes on the greens around this place. It just shows how good they are when they're making so many birdies."
Many viewers were stunned to see Kane already at Augusta just a day after a crucial Premier League match. One wrote on Twitter: “Harry Kane at the Masters. Spurs have a few days off so belted it out there after yesterday’s win at Villa.”
Another added: “Harry Kane must have got a taxi from Villa Park straight to the airport to head to Augusta.” Whilst one other enviously wrote: “Life of a footballer right there on Sky Sports Golf. Harry Kane routing Villa at 7.15pm on Saturday, following day being interviewed at Augusta.”
Kane has scored 12 goals and assisted eight so far this season for Spurs, with his good form coinciding with Spurs rising up the table over the past few months. They currently occupy the fourth spot in the table, which could allow Conte to attract top talent to North London in the summer.
But the Italian boss may be fearful that he could lose Kane at the end of the season too. Reports have circulated that the 28-year-old is Manchester United ’s number one priority in the summer transfer window as they look to rebuild at Old Trafford and become the force they once were.
