Latest Man Utd takeover news
On Tuesday night, it emerged Sheikh Jassim had tabled one last ‘take it or leave it offer’ as he looks to buy Manchester United. And that means the Qatari billionaire has now completed his U-turn, having previously insisted his third offer would be his last. Now, the Glazers have a big decision to make with Sir Jim Ratcliffe also very much still in the picture…
There was always going to be dramatic when it comes to the takeover process at United.
There have been rumours galore ever since the Glazers signalled a willingness to do business back in November, shortly after being criticised by Cristiano Ronaldo.
But with the end of the saga within sight, the twists and turns just keep coming.
At the end of April, after launching his third bid to buy United, it emerged that Sheikh Jassim wouldn’t be making another.
It was stated that he felt his £5billion bid was high enough to crack the Glazers code, only for it to quickly become clear that wasn’t the case.

Last week, all signs pointed to Ratcliffe being the frontrunner in the race to own United.
There were widespread reports suggesting the INEOS chief was confident that, by allowing brothers Joel and Avram Glazer to stay in minority roles, he’d swing the pendulum his way.
Then, over the weekend, the situation started to change.
Reports said both Sheikh Jassim and Ratcliffe felt suggestions the latter was in pole position were premature.
What’s more, the pair both believed stories were being planted in order for the Glazers to get as much bang for their buck as possible.

On Sunday, it was then claimed Sheikh Jassim was considering a last bid.
And, now, the U-turn is complete after news broke the Qatari billionaire had indeed decided to make one last play for the club.
According to the Daily Mail, this will be his final offer.
The bid is described as ‘improved’, while it’s also claimed Sheikh Jassim remains eager to acquire 100 per cent – instead of merely the controlling share.
While that’s the case, however, it is ‘still thought to value United at a lower price than Ratcliffe’.

He is willing to pay a huge fee to take control right away, though, and is willing to wipe the club’s debts – which are close to £536million.
Talks are continuing, the publication adds.
Meanwhile, should Sheikh Jassim win the race for United, it’s possible he’ll go on a summer spending spree.
Kylian Mbappe, Kingsley Coman and Eduardo Camavinga have all been reported as being personal targets for the Qatari figure.
But journalist Dean Jones, speaking to GiveMeSport, can’t see a triple swoop happening this summer.
“It sounds pretty outrageous and far-fetched,” he said when asked about Mbappe, Coman and Camavinga.
“But most leaks do have an element of truth to them.
“Even if this is just a pipe dream, I’m sure this has been mentioned somewhere along the line.”
