Paul Pogba’s Leicester comments anger Rio Ferdinand after Man Utd defeat

Rio Ferdinand was not impressed with Paul Pogba's assessment of Manchester United's 4-2 defeat at Leicester – suggesting his comments could cause friction in the Old Trafford dressing room.

United collapsed late on at the King Power on Saturday, despite initially taking the lead when Mason Greenwood broke the deadlock with a stunning long-range strike in the 19th minute.

Goals from Youri Tielemans and Caglar Soyuncu swung the game in the Foxes' favour, but with eight minutes remaining Marcus Rashford thought he had snatched a point for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men when he cooly converted past Kasper Schmeichel from close range.

That was before they were knocked out cold in a dramatic final 10 minutes, with Jamie Vardy going straight down the other end and restoring Leicester's lead.

Patson Daka then put the icing on the cake for the hosts deep into stoppage time, compounding United's misery and extending their winless Premier League run to three games.

Do you think Paul Pogba's assessment was justified after the Leicester defeat? Let us know in the comments section below.

After their second defeat of the season, Pogba said: "We deserved to lose. We have not found the problem, conceding easy goals, stupid goals.

"We need to be more mature, play with more experience and arrogance in a good way.

"We need to find something, we need to change. We need to find the right mentality and the right tactic. Stick with it and resolve the problem."

But the £89million star's comments have not gone down well with Ferdinand, who admits he would have been left furious if one of his team-mates said something similar.

"I dunno man, it doesn't sit well with me when I see that," the United legend said on his FIVE YouTube channel.

"I've got to be honest, if I was in a changing room and a teammate said that I wouldn't be happy.

"I'd be straight in asking him what he meant, what does this mean – unless I actually agreed with him.

"I just think Pogba is an honest guy, that's what I like about him.

"He's very passionate, he wants to win. That says to me that there's a frustration, an underlying frustration within the camp there. He's not hiding it, he can't hide it.

"Normally you get bog standard answers [in post-match interviews] but there he said a few things that pose questions."
