Noel Gallagher rips Carragher with brutal putdown after Erling Haaland comment

Noel Gallagher savaged Jamie Carragher with a brutal putdown after the Sky Sports pundit claimed Man City star Erling Haaland joined the wrong club.

Despite scoring 25 Premier League goals for City already this season, Haaland has failed to hit the net in five of the club's last seven matches. And Carragher reckons City's style of play is to blame for the striker's blip, which is why he feels the Norwegian picked the wrong side to maximise his full potential.

And Carragher's not the only person who feels Haaland isn't the right fit for City. It's a view also shared by Arsenal legend Thierry Henry who believes Harry Kane would've been a better fit for Pep's side.

But Carragher's opinion went over Gallagher's head, as the Oasis frontman insisted no one takes the ex-Liverpool man's viewpoint seriously. When asked about Carragher's remarks by talkSPORT host Gabby Agbonlahor, the musician scoffed: "Yeah but no-one listens to Carragher do they?" causing the show's presenters to break into laughter.

Prior to his ruthless dig toward Carragher, the pop icon admitted he's hoping Haaland is at his best in City's 'tough' potential title decider against league leaders Arsenal on Wednesday. Despite having full confidence in his side's "great" attack, Gallager conceded: "We can't defend to save our lives."

When Carragher gets wind of Gallagher's fiery remarks, it's bound to reignite the pair's bitter feud that's been raging over the past few years. The pair traded words whilst covering Chelsea's Champions League win over City in 2021.

And Carragher's also clashed with Noel's brother Liam who called the Liverpool legend a b****** when City pipped the Reds to the Prem title last May. Liam tweeted: " “What you saying carra you b*****d," prompting Carragher to retort: “I’m saying you’ll never win the Champions league & Oasis are s***e compared to the Beatles. That work??”
