Newcastle United fans have been left in stitches as the club confirmed the signing of Chris Wood from fellow Premier League strugglers Burnley with an innuendo tweet.
The 30-year-old has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal at the Tyneside club following a big-money move from Turf Moor and is available for selection against Watford this weekend.
Wood becomes the Magpies' second signing of the January transfer window following the arrival of Kieran Trippier from La Liga champions Atletico Madrid.
Although Burnley had no intention of letting Wood leave, the Lancashire-based side were left powerless to prevent the transfer after Newcastle met his £25m release clause.
Now fans have been left in stitches by the club's Twitter announcement, with the New Zealand star being unveiled to supporters with the caption "We've got Wood".
Toon fans were quick to pick up on the elusive remark, taking to social media to joke about Wood's announcement.
"Me too," joked one fan.
"Good to see the NUFC social media team have a sense of humour," said another.
Will the signing of Chris Wood be enough for Newcastle to escape relegation? Let us know in the comments section.
"Is this the first Premier League signing to be announced with a stiffy joke? Could be," quipped a third supporter.
"I mean, there's no need to say that out loud," said a fourth.
While Blackburn Rovers were also keen to get involved tweeting a video of youth player Harrison Wood with the caption: "We've got Wood too!"

Having won just one match all season, Eddie Howe is in desperate need of reinforcements as Newcastle look to avoid a third relegation from the Premier League.
But the former Bournemouth boss suffered a double blow in their last top-flight outing with top scorers Callum Wilson and Allan Saint-Maximin both forced off through injury.
The Magpies have confirmed that Wilson is expected to be out for at least the next month which is why they have pounced to pinch Wood from relegation-rivals Burnley.
The New Zealand international has reached double figures in all four of his Premier League campaigns after sealing a club-record £15m switch from Leeds United back in 2017.
Backed by the recent Saudi-led takeover, the Magpies winter splurge already totals £37m.
Yet Howe has been promised a winter war chest and the spending is not expected to stop there as the 44-year-old spearheads the Tyneside revolution.
