New Tottenham Hotspur signing Ivan Perisic is also a professional beach volleyball player as well as being a footballer.
Spurs announced on Tuesday that they have completed the signing of Perisic, with the 33-year-old set to join on a free transfer at the start of July when his contract with Inter Milan expires. The Croatia international has long been linked with a move to the Premier League, with the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal rumoured destinations in the past.
It is not just football where Perisic has played professionally, though, having once competed on the beach volleyball world tour.
Perisic received a wildcard to appear at an event in Porec, Croatia back in the summer of 2017, partnering up with Niksa Dellorco. The event in his homeland had a total prize pot of $60,000 for the duo that came out on top.
Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport prior to the tournament, Perisic admitted, via The Mirror: "I want to go as far as possible." As for the prize money, he added: “The prize will be given to the Croatian beach volleyball association to promote the development of the sport.”

Sadly for Perisic and Dellorco, however, they failed to make it beyond the opening pool stage of the event, losing all three of their matches as they finished bottom of pool A.
Luckily for Spurs, though, Perisic has had far more success on the football pitch, winning Serie A under Antonio Conte at Inter in 2020.
The former Borussia Dortmund man scored five goals and added five assists in his 42 appearances during Conte's time with Inter, after spending the first season of Conte's tenure on loan at Bayern Munich.
Conte and Perisic will now be reunited in north London, with the latter signing a deal that will keep him at Spurs until the summer of 2024.
Chelsea had also been interested in signing Perisic this summer once it had become clear he would be leaving Inter, whilst United, Arsenal and Leicester City have all been linked with him at various points in the past.
