- Dreadful start to the year had Milan fearing their season could quickly unravel
- Three wins inside a week sees belief grow again as they target top four finish
Junior Messias scored the game’s only goal as AC Milan made it three wins in a row to round off a potentially season-defining week away at Monza.
Having begun the year in dreadful fashion, Milan knew that their season could quickly unravel but made it three wins from their last three – all by margins of just one goal – to get back on track.
With current Monza owner Silvio Berlusconi watching on, Milan showed their former owner, and perhaps the most significant figure in the club’s storied history, the gulf in class between the sides.
The result takes Milan third, three points ahead of Roma in fifth. Monza remain 11th.
