Incoming Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick has a number of key decisions to make in the transfer market.
The club were widely tipped to move for former Tottenham Hotspur full-back Kieran Trippier last summer, although the move never materialised, and they have now also been linked with Brighton's Tariq Lamptey.
Elsewhere the defensive midfield position continues to be a huge problem for the club and reinforcements will be needed in the January transfer window to strengthen the side's spine.
One of their reported targets is now said to be 'looking for a new challenge' and United could get the deal done cheaply, with his contract set to expire next summer.
Daily Star Sport has taken a look at the latest Manchester United transfer news below.
Rangnick faces tough decision
Manchester United remain interested in Kieran Trippier, but new boss Ralf Rangnick must decide whether he wants the player, it has been reported.
Spanish newspaper AS reports being told by sources at Old Trafford that Trippier is ‘still on the agenda’ for them, with the club still ‘eyeing him up’ after their failed efforts to bring him to Manchester last summer.
United may have to move quickly, however, with newly-rich Newcastle United also interested in bringing the player back to England in January.

If United do not move for Trippier, they could instead turn to Brighton's Tariq Lamptey in order to provide competition at right-back for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
According to Fichajes [via Burnley Express ], United have entered the race to sign the 21-year-old, with reports suggesting he could be well-suited to Rangnick's high-pressing playing style.
Lamptey has impressed during his time on the south coast and was linked with a move to Arsenal last summer.
Target 'looking for new challenge'
Borussia Mönchengladbach defensive midfielder Denis Zakaria is said to be 'looking for a new challenge' ahead of his contract expiring next summer.
The midfielder, who has also been linked with Jose Mourinho's Roma, could even be available for as little as £8.5m in January, according to German newspaper Bild.
With the report adding that a contract extension with Gladbach 'excluded' by the player, Zakaria's club may be open to discussing a deal rather than lose the player for nothing at the end of the season.
