Liverpool have been urged to sign Wolves star and long-time target Adama Traore to help boost the attacking options in Jurgen Klopp’s squad. That area of the team is light in terms of quality, with the Reds set to seek to improve it in the upcoming January transfer window.
First-choice options Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firminio means that Klopp can call upon arguably the best attackers in the Premier League.
But if any of those four are injured, their back-ups are much less impressive, especially after Xherdan Shaqiri’s summer transfer to Lyon.
It is a problem that will become particularly acute across January and February, with Salah and Mane jetting off for the African Cup of Nations.
With the duo away from Anfield for as much as a month, Klopp will be low on quality options, a situation that may become even worse if injuries hit the squad.
If they are to maintain their challenge for the Premier League title, the Reds will be forced to turn to the transfer market.

One of their targets for some time has been Traore, who has mostly impressed at Wolves since they returned to the top-flight.
The winger has scored nine goals and notched 15 assists in the past two full seasons, earning a call-up to the Spain squad for Euro 2020.
While he is yet to open his account for this campaign for either goals or assists, Traore has still been a key part of new boss Bruno Lage’s squad.
He has started seven of their 12 games in the top-flight, featuring as a sub in another four, with Lage’s men currently sitting an impressive sixth.

But Traore is out of contract in the summer of 2023, meaning that the best time for Wolves to sell him will be this coming January, if they don’t expect him to sign a new deal.
And former Tottenham star Darren Bent believes that Liverpool should finally shore up their reported interest in him.
Bent believes that the 25-year-old would perfectly suit the Reds’ style of play under Klopp, tipping him to become an ‘unstoppable’ force.
“How much could they get him for Adama? In that team he could be unstoppable as well,” Bent told talkSPORT.
“His problem is consistency, but I think in that Liverpool team where they play the high press and high energy, I think he might be good for them.”
Bent’s fellow pundit Jack Wilshere also believes that Traore could be the perfect target for Liverpool and claimed that he could be available for as little as £30million.
“They could get him for £30m. I think he’d be unreal,” the former Arsenal midfielder added.
The January transfer window opens in five weeks’ time, with the African Cup of Nations getting underway nine days later.
