Liverpool fans want to see Eddie Howe land the vacant Newcastle role so he can splash more cash on their unwanted players.
Howe, who has been without a job since leaving Bournemouth in 2020, is one of the managers in contention to succeed Steve Bruce at St James' Park.
During his near eight-year spell on the south coast, the English manager worked with a relatively tight budget – but he did make two big signings from Anfield.
He brought winger Jordan Ibe for roughly £16m in 2016 and then gave the Reds £19m for striker Dominic Solanke three years later.
Therefore, his potential appointment for the Magpies has Reds fans joking about which of their fringe stars he can go for next.
One tweeted: "Eddie Howe to Newcastle? We'll take £60m for Ox, £75m for Origi and £35m for Adrian. Cheers mate."
"Brilliant! You know it's gonna happen," a fan responded.
Another said: "Eddie Howe to Newcastle? Just realised we can sell our deadwood for increased price again."

Howe also brought in right-back Nathaniel Clyne on loan from Liverpool during his second Cherries reign.
Ibe, 25, proved to be an unsuccessful get and is currently without a club after leaving not longer after Howe did.
Solanke, meanwhile, is still at Bournemouth and has been firing in the goals since their relegation to the Championship.
With Unai Emery reportedly out of the race for the Magpies job, Howe has emerged as the bookies' favourite.
As well as links to Newcastle, the 43-year-old has also been mentioned in the discussion for Everton.
And journalist Alan Nixon tweeted on Wednesday morning that Howe is in Liverpool amid suggestions Rafael Benitez could return to his former club.
Nixon claimed Howe is on Merseyside to attend Liverpool's Champions League encounter with Atletico Madrid.
