Lionesses commentator ‘does a Paul Parker’ with non-reaction to England goal

Football fans were left in stitches by a hilarious non-reaction to Lucy Bronze doubling England's lead on Tuesday evening.

The Lionesses are 90 minutes away from history after they brushed aside Sweden 4-0 at Bramall Lane. And as England doubled their lead, to put the tie out of the Nordic side's hands, Lauren Smith failed to show any emotion to Bronze's strike.

Smith was delivering some analysis when Bronze struck, she said, allowing herself a small smile: "Oh my god, it's a goal." And football fans were quick to compare Smith to Paul Parker's infamous reaction to Arsenal taking the lead against Ostersunds.

One fan joked about the reaction using Neil Warnock's iconic line: "By all means enjoy it, but enjoy it by being f****** disciplined!"

"Don't think I could bear too much of this excitement," a second fan joked. While a third added: "Absolutely disgusting. No need for that much excitement in the game."

A fourth joked: "I love how she has to apologise for her over the top celebrations!"

However, most fans compared Smith to Parker's infamous Arsenal reaction.

Parker, who was reporting on the Gunners' Europa League clash with the Swedish side, said, stone-faced: "As expected Arsenal have had a lot of possession it has taken them eight minutes or so to actually get their first attempt at goal.

"Here it comes, they've just scored."
