Liverpool could have the chance to bring Georginio Wijnaldum back to the club despite the Dutchman leaving Anfield this summer, but Jurgen Klopp should resist the urge and turn his attention elsewhere, with a Bundesliga star attracting interest.
Georginio WIjnaldum left Liverpool for Paris Saint Germain this summer after he opted not to sign a new deal at Anfield and seek a move elsewhere.
The Dutchman was just one of many stars signed by the French giants on a free deal, as Lionel Messi, Sergio Ramos and Gianluigi Donnarumma were also snapped up.
Wijnaldum has scored three goals for PSG this season from midfield, but the move hasn’t gone the way that the Dutchman expected, and he is already linked with a return to the Premier League.
Although Jurgen Klopp could have the chance to re-sign the player that he was so upset to let go this summer, the Liverpool boss should resist the urge and concentrate on a new star who is destined for the Premier League.

It was a sad sight to see Wijnaldum leave Liverpool this summer after everything that he consistently gave to the side, and Klopp was distraught that the Dutchman would no longer be at Anfield.
Klopp is known for becoming extremely invested in his players, and the loss of Wijnaldum was a tough one for him to take, as the Liverpool boss said back in May: “From the first moment it clicked between us, he’s a very friendly, very smart, very open person and that never changed, it just improved since then.
“Yes, it’s very emotional for me, because I lose a friend and we’ll miss him. That’s how it is.
“But it’s normal in football that these kinds of things happen. Not nice, but normal. I’m really sure he will find a great place.”

However, less than six months have passed and Wijnaldum is already reportedly unsettled and seeking a potential move back to the Premier League, and it’s likely that both Liverpool and the player would be happy to reunite as Klopp didn’t replace the Dutchman this summer.
Although Wijnaldum was a star at Liverpool, his time has come and gone and his legacy should be left intact, as Klopp should prioritise highly rated star Denis Zakaria instead, and resist the urge to bring his friend back to the club.
The 25-year-old is out of contract at Borussia Monchengladbach next summer and is unlikely to sign a new deal, meaning that he is free to talk to foreign clubs in January about a free move ahead of next season.
With no replacement sorted over the summer, and with James Milner likely to leave at the end of the current campaign, Klopp should look to bring Zakaria to Liverpool and according to Calciomercato, the Reds hold a ‘strong’ interest.
Monchengladbach are struggling this season and the German side could even sell Zakaria for a cut-price fee in January so that they don’t lose him for free next summer, and Liverpool should capitalise on that situation.
The Bundesliga side are also not in European competition, meaning that the Swiss international would not be cup-tied in the Champions League, adding further value and depth to Klopp’s squad should a January option be prioritised.
Zakaria could also be one of the star’s in a new look midfield for the future, as the midfielder would be in his prime as Jordan Henderson and Thiago would be coming tot he end of their career’s.
Although the romanticism is being lost in football, bringing Wijnaldum back isn’t the answer to keeping it alive, as a move for Zakaria makes a lot more sense across the board.
