Jack Grealish’s mum sent Man City star adorable text before Real Madrid clash

Jack Grealish revealed the inspiring text he received from his mum before Manchester City’s clash against Real Madrid.

Grealish lined up on the left wing for City on Tuesday evening as they earned a draw against the Spanish champions in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final.

Vinicius Junior put the reigning European champions ahead in the first half with a strike from outside the box before Kevin De Bruyne cancelled out the Brazilian’s goal with an equally brilliant strike.

Speaking after the game, Grealish revealed the emotional message he was sent pre-game by his mum, saying: “I had a text from my mum before game saying ‘these are the nights you dreamed of as a kid’ and it’s true.

"Playing in the semi-final of the Champions League that everyone in the world was probably watching, sometimes you pinch yourself…"

Grealish played the full 90 minutes for Pep Guardiola’s side and started his tenth Champions League game of the campaign so far from a possible 11, but he’s yet to find the back of the net in Europe.

However, the 27-year-old enjoyed a battle against Real Madrid right-back Dani Carvajal throughout after the pair came to blows in the first half, playing another key role in Guardiola’s side.
