Inter Miami ‘are looking to sign Angel Di Maria’ from Juventus on a free transfer this summer with Phil Neville’s MLS side also linked with moves for Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets
- Angel Di Maria has been in excellent form for Juventus since the World Cup
- With his contract up in June, the 35-year-old is being ‘chased by Inter Miami’
- Phil Neville’s side have also been linked with Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets
Juventus and Argentina winger Angel Di Maria is ‘currently being chased by MLS side Inter Miami’.
The 35-year-old moved to Turin on a one-year contract over the summer and will be available for free unless the Italian giants can tie him down to a new deal.
He struggled in his first few months at the club but has been in excellent form since his triumph at last year’s World Cup and has scored six goals across all competitions in 2023.
According to reports in Football Italia, Miami, who are partially owned by David Beckham and managed by Phil Neville, are keen to bring in Di Maria given that he will likely be available on a free transfer.
If the winger was to join the Florida-based club, he would bring a wealth of experience after winning six league titles and a Champions league in his career to date, not to mention last year’s World Cup and a Copa America.

He is not the first big-name to be linked with Neville’s side this year, after the manger refused to rule out they were chasing footballing legend Lionel Messi.
Speaking to The Times, the manager admitted that both Messi and midfielder Sergio Busquets are on his radar.
‘We want to bring the best players in the world to this football club,’ he said.
‘Messi and Busquets are the two that stand out more in recent years. They’re great players who would still be a massive benefit to this organization. For MLS, it would be a game-changer.
‘Since I joined Miami, I think we’ve been linked with every single top player in world football. From Sergio Ramos, Robert Lewandowski, Willian, Cesc Fàbregas, Luis Suarez . . . all of them you can rattle off.’
The Inter squad currently boasts the likes of former Newcastle midfielder DeAndre Yedlin and Neville’s son Harvey, who made his MLS debut in 2022.
The manager continued: ‘We’re always going to be linked with the best players in the world. We had Gonzalo Higuaín and Blaise Matuidi. Now we’ve got the opportunity to bring in some new designated players [who fall outside the league’s salary cap] following their retirements.’
