Forgotten Premier League and England 21 star who joined Tottenham with Kyle Walker is RELEASED by his club after racking up almost 250 appearances in the Championship… and is now set for unemployment at 34
- The 34-year-old right-back is set for a new chapter after eight years at Swansea
- He chalked up 75 appearances for Tottenham before leaving the club in 2015
- It is not yet known where the former England U21 international will end up next
A forgotten Premier League star will be on the hunt for a new home this summer after being released from Swansea.
The old Tottenham right-back, who arrived in north London alongside fellow Sheffield United academy graduate Kyle Walker, chalked up 176 appearances in the Premier League before suffering relegation with the Welsh club in 2018.
Now aged 34, the former England U21 is set for a new chapter in his career after eight years at Swansea.
Swans boss Russell Martin confirmed earlier this week that Kyle Naughton would leave the club at the end of the season alongside team-mates Ryan Madding and Joel Latibeaudiere.
The manager, who is the frontrunner to take over at Southampton next season, said: ‘I’d love to keep all three, but we’re not at that point at the moment.

The Sheffield United academy graduate joined Tottenham in 2009 and stayed there until 2015
‘I’ll be really sad to lose one of them, let alone all of them.’
Naughton joined Swansea from Tottenham in 2015 after racking up 75 appearances in north London.
Almost third of his matches at Spurs came in the Europa League (24) under ex-Tottenham managers Harry Redknapp, Andre Villas-Boas, Tim Sherwood and Mauricio Pochettino.
He arrived at White Hart Lane in a double deal with fellow Blades right-back Walker, who has gone on to win a plethora of trophies under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.

Naughton made 26 appearances for Swansea this campaign, narrowly missing out on the play-offs by three points as he helped his side to a 10th place finish.
Now a free agent, it is not yet clear where the former Premier League star will end up next season.
Honouring his exit, a Swansea fan group posted to Twitter: ‘Thank you Naughts. We never thought this day would come.
‘After eight Years with the Swans, Kyle Naughton’s contract is set to expire. He played over 260 times in black and white and has been a consistent member of the squad since his arrival in January 2015. All the best Kyle.’
