Fans want ‘lifetime ban’ for supporter’s cringey Jack Grealish poster at Etihad

Fans have been left disgusted at a cringey Jack Grealish banner held up by a young fan during Manchester City and Real Madrid’s Champions League clash.

Tuesday night’s semi-final first leg will go down as one of the greatest Champions League games in recent years, with the Etihad crowd being treated to a 4-3 thriller in favour of the home side. But the sensational on-field display was tarnished by the actions of one particular individual in the stands.

A young City supporter was caught on camera holding up a sign with the words: “My mum thinks Grealish is delish” along with a love heart.

His cringeworthy display sparked the wrath of fans online, who savagely called for him to be given a lifetime ban from the stadium.

One tweeted: “Stadium ban necessary,” while a second wrote: “lifetime ban.” Another user commented: “Yeah just saw the ‘my mum thinks Grealish is delish’ sign in the crowd… how did security not confiscate that.”

Is the Grealish poster the cringiest one you have seen at a football stadium? Let us know in the comments section.

A third added: “Just seen a sign from a fan that says ‘My mum thinks Grealish is delish’. Tv has been chucked out the window.”

Luckily for City fans, their team’s brilliance on the pitch more than made up for the embarrassment. Early goals by Kevin De Bruyne and Gabriel Jesus suggested the Premier League leaders would settle the tie in the first leg, but for Karim Benzema’s remarkable volley before half-time.

The match swung in favour of one team and then the other as Phil Foden and Vinicius Jr scored for their respective sides in the second-half. Bernardo Silva’s rocket appeared to have secured Pep Guardiola’s team a 4-2 win, until Los Blancos captain Karim Benzema scored a stunning Panenka penalty to give the Spanish giants all to play for at the Bernabeu next week.
