Everton star Anthony Gordon’s gesture to fans hints Chelsea move is happening

Chelsea transfer target Anthony Gordon was seen waving to Everton fans after the Toffees 1-1 away draw with Brentford.

The youngster’s tidy finish looked to have put the Merseysiders on their way to a vital victory over Thomas Frank’s side. Vitaly Janelt may have bundled in a late equaliser to ensure the spoils were shared, but the Everton winger’s dynamic and tireless performance was the talk of the town.

Various reports indicate Thomas Tuchel’s side are prepared to offer around £60million for the 21-year-old. And for the second consecutive week, his interactions with the travelling Everton faithful suggest he could soon be on his way out of Goodison Park.

After the game, Gordon made a beeline towards the away fans and even gave his shirt to a young fan in the crowd. He then began waving at the Everton fans before turning around and heading back to the dressing room.

Of course, a defiant Frank Lampard remained adamant that the only shade of blue Gordon would be wearing come September 1st would be that of Everton.

"He has been different class,” the former Chelsea boss told Sky Sports. “All the paper talk and all the speculation, to be fair he just cracks on.

“Whatever comes will happen, but I love having him on my team. There is a reason why teams are after him.”

Lampard also added, "A player at his level should react positively and I thought he did that. "It's not happened. Nothing has changed."

The Toffees’ manager has maintained a strong upper lip when it comes to Gordon’s future at the club. Whether this is enough to keep the youngster at the club remains to be seen.
