Euros singer Becky Hill blasts trolls over outfit and says ‘cover up for no one’

Singer Becky Hill has blasted trolls who criticised her outfit choice for her Euro 2022 final performance.

The pop star warmed up the Wembley crowd on Sunday (July 31) before the Lionesses went on to make history with their 2-1 victory over Germany, winning their maiden major trophy and England's first in 56 years.

Although the moment was an incredibly proud one for her, Hill then had to deal with several trolls on social media who targeted her for what she was wearing. She hit back at the comments with a tweet of her own.

Hill said: "Be proud of your bodies! Celebrate yourselves! Show off your curves! Cover up for no one and be confident!

"Took me a long time to learn that and I wish I had role models like that growing up! Thanks for having me today @Lionesses, you’re doing us proud."

After nasty posts continued to be directed towards her, she started replying to them individually. One of her responses read: "Have your opinion but keep it to yourself.

"A troll is someone who gives their unwanted opinion when I didn’t ask. I wanted to wear a popstar sequin corset, sparkly tights and platform boots because that’s what I love wearing. Get out my a** ffs."

Hill reflected further on the online abuse she'd received on Monday, writing: "I’ve spent most part of today feeling s*** and had a little cry about how incredible the women’s football was yesterday and how sad that people devalued my worth as a performer because of what I wore. Anyway, I’m done now for my own mental health."

She later added: "It was an absolute honour to open up such an iconic and historic moment for women's football, and perform in all my popstar glory. Will remember that moment until the day I die. That was one of my biggest moments of my career."
