Manchester United icon Danny Welbeck has named ex-Arsenal star Santi Cazorla as the best player he's ever played with – despite starring alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.
Welbeck burst onto the scene at the Red Devils in the early 2010s, but after his game time started to dwindle he moved to Arsenal. And it was at the Gunners where he linked up with diminutive Spaniard Cazorla.
Speaking to Goal, Welbeck revealed: "That's a very difficult one because I played with a numerous amount of players. [Someone who was] Really, really gifted was Santi Cazorla. He was incredible.

"Left and right foot, football intelligence, receiving the ball, playing passes through, and breaking the lines. He was the one I was like, 'Wow'."
On his day Cazorla was unplayable for the Gunners and, alongside Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, Arsenal had one of Europe's most exciting trios. However, their time together was fleeting due to injuries, form, and sheer inconsistency.
Cazorla left Arsenal in 2018 – when he moved to Villarreal – and he almost had to call time on his career when an ankle injury left him needing a skin graft. However, Cazorla did make his return, and he's currently playing for Al-Sadd in Qatar.

Welbeck was then asked the best player he's ever played against – and again Ronaldo was snubbed.
He continued: "The best player I played against, I would have to go with Eden Hazard. When he was at Chelsea he was unbelievable. His balance, his agility, his movement. He was pretty much unplayable!"
