Jamie O'Hara has claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo knows that "shambles" Manchester United are a "sinking ship" as he is linked with an exit.
Ronaldo reportedly wants to leave United before the end of the summer transfer window after just one season back with the Premier League giants. The 37-year-old forward is also yet to report for pre-season, having missed the first two days of training due to "family reasons".
Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder O'Hara has now given his thoughts on Ronaldo's decision to push for a move away from Old Trafford with a scathing assessment of the club's current predicament.
Cristiano Ronaldo was days from signing for Liverpool in deal that was 'easily done'
Speaking on talkSPORT on Tuesday night: “Ronaldo was their top scorer last season, stepped up in big moments for the club. He's left because he can see they're a sinking ship.
“They're a shambles for letting him leave, he's their best player. How many times has he stepped up? Ronaldo, in those big moments, drags them through.
“He carried them for months on end… he has earned the right to say, ‘the future isn't bright with Manchester United, I want to win trophies.’”

United missed out on the Champions League last season after finishing sixth in the Premier League as well as missing out on a trophy for the fifth consecutive season.
Despite the club's poor performances, Ronaldo managed to finish as their top scorer in both the league and across all competitions as he bagged 24 goals in 37 appearances.
He also mustered 18 league goals across 30 matches, with only top scorers' Mohamed Salah and Heung-min Son scoring more than the five-time Ballon d'Or winner.
Following reports Ronaldo could leave United this summer, Premier League rivals Chelsea have been linked with a move for the veteran forward.
However, the club have been warned that Ronaldo could have a detrimental impact on their dressing room atmosphere by Richard Keys.
The presenter has advised the Blues against a move for Ronaldo and told Thomas Tuchel that the Portugal striker would "blow up" the Chelsea dressing room if he was signed.
