Latest Man Utd takeover news
Avram Glazer has been accused of spending £500,000 on two journeys to England in recent times. The Manchester United co-owner is in the spotlight as takeover talk continues to rumble on at Old Trafford. Sheikh Jassim has made four bids for the club, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe lodging three offers so far.
Glazer has jetted in to England twice in recent times.
He attended the Carabao Cup final back in February, watching United beat Newcastle at Wembley courtesy of goals from Casemiro and Marcus Rashford.
And, earlier in the month, Glazer watched the club’s women’s team lose to Chelsea in the WSL final at the same ground.
Now, according to The Athletic, the controversial United chief ‘put the price down’ as £250,000 for each of the visits.
That means he’s spent a massive £500,000 in total, which the publication points out is ‘at the very top end’ when it comes to private jets.
Glazer jetted in from Tampa, Florida, and the high price means he’s now facing a backlash from supporters who already want him to go.
Man Utd transfers: Ten Hag wants another Pogba and it makes sense
It’s claimed that ‘footballers often hire their own jets for holidays at a cost of £50,000’.
Glazer recently dodged questions about the United takeover process, remaining tight-lipped after watching the WSL final at Wembley with his daughter Libby.
But it’s no surprise to see the American coaxing as much money from United as possible.
The Glazers have profited hugely since their own takeover of the club all the way back in 2005, much to the ire of fans.
And they’re still yet to invest a penny of their own money into the club after 18 years of controversial rule.
With regards to a takeover, it remains to be seen what happens.

It emerged over the weekend that Sheikh Jassim had approved the Glazers’ plans to back Erik ten Hag in the summer transfer window at the end of the season.
But there’s still no guarantee the Qatari billionaire will purchase the club, especially with the Glazers apparently upping their demands during the saga so far.
Ratcliffe is prepared to let Joel and Avram Glazer stay at the club in reduced roles under his ownership.
The two siblings would then be allowed to sell their existing shares for a premium rate within the next two to four years.
Joel and Avram are believed to be the family members who are eager to remain at United.
Their other four siblings would, according to widespread reports, prefer to cash in, pack their bags and walk off into the sunset.

Meanwhile, former United star Paul Parker believes clarity is needed so Ten Hag can make transfer plans with a firm budget in mind.
“Only if everything gets sorted out and he can actually go and start buying players who can turn up on the first day of pre-season,” the former defender told the Manchester Evening News.
“If that happens, then that says United have got an opportunity to get on their way back to where they should be.
“And there are no excuses then, to be perfectly honest.
“It doesn’t just happen overnight, but they would be in a better place than last season.
“And they have done quite well this season, so they will definitely be a lot better than they were from 2013 onwards.”
When asked if early business can make a difference, Parker added: “Yeah, it does.
“Rather than players turning up – it’s why a lot of players will be given a little bit more time after this season.
“I think [Tyrell] Malacia will be better for it; feeling what it is like to be that far away from home and in that city.
“I think Antony will be better. I am hoping he is better and grows into it to become that way.
“I felt better in my second season, after being there for a summer as well.”
