Tierney is one of seven players the Gunners are looking to offload before the end of the summer transfer window.

Arsenal’s preference is to sell Tierney permanently but Real Sociedad are only looking to take the Scotland international on loan.

However, Arsenal’s sporting director Edu is reportedly trying to ensure that a potential loan deal would include an obligation to buy.

The Athletic report that talks are ongoing between Arsenal and Real Sociedad as they look to strike a deal.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has insisted that Tierney is part of his plans but it is thought that the Gunners are very much open to offers.

Tierney attracted strong interest from Newcastle United but Eddie Howe’s side opted to bring in Lewis Hall from Chelsea instead.

The 26-year-old left-back was then linked with a sensational return to his former club Celtic but a move did not materialise.

Tierney joined Arsenal from Celtic in 2019 and has made a total of 124 appearances for the north Londoners to date.

He is yet to feature in the Premier League so far this season having not been included in either of Arteta’s matchday squads.
