ALVISE CAGNAZZO: Victor Osimhen will be back for Napoli's clash Milan

ALVISE CAGNAZZO: Victor Osimhen will be back for Napoli’s most important game of the season, as they prepare for their Champions League second-leg clash with AC Milan… and the in-form forward is ready to make his mark

  • Napoli and AC Milan will go head-to-head in their second-leg quarter-final
  • AC Milan hold a 1-0 goal lead after the Ismael Bennacer’s goal in the first-leg
  • Victor Osimhen will be back and ready for action as the hosts look to qualify

In-form forward Victor Osimhen is ready to face AC Milan in the most important match of Napoli’s season.

The Nigerian international is 100% focused and is living his moment of the season with great pressure. Against Verona, Osimhen entered the pitch in the 71st minute and hit the crossbar, making the whole stadium tremble.

During his 20-minute cameo, Napoli’s number nine repeatedly put the Veronese defense in difficulty, proving he can be the decisive man for the night of the Champions League.

The Nigerian has increased the pressure in attack and exalted the fans. The anger after the final triple whistle arose from the arbitration controversy over the referee’s decision to close the match while the Neapolitans were in attack. He always wants to score and in those few seconds he wanted to score a 3-pointer.

He helped increase the pressure in attack and brought excitement to the fans. They were eventually left frustrated after the referee blew the whistle whilst they were on the attack, with Osimhen leading it.

The striker has returned in great physical form but will no doubt remain nervous for an electric season finale.

His return to the field is considered fundamental by Spalletti, who lost Raspadori and Simeone to injury and had to reinvent the attack to make up for the absence of Osimhen.

Without him, Napoli struggle to score. He is a cynical player, fast and possesses great physical strength. He manages to transform the team in just a few moves.

Osimhen is ready to take the team back by the hand and try to achieve an extraordinary result in the club’s recent history.

The 24-year-old suffered a muscle injury in recent weeks and has not been able to take the field but the great work of the team’s medical staff has allowed the club to recover him for the last 20 minutes of the big match against Verona to then deploy him from the first minute against Milan.

Osimhen’s injury came at the most delicate moment of the season and that hamstring problem sustained in the national team slowed him down at a crucial moment.

He’s perhaps the strongest centre-forward in Europe right now, behind Erling Haaland. His way of playing is unique because it combines Thierry Henry’s speed with George Weah’s ability to score goals.

In the first leg against Napoli, the point of reference in attack was missing, with Elmas struggling to step into a different role such as that of center forward and Raspadori who did not have the physical brilliance necessary to face Milan’s granite defence.

At Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, two pillars will be missing such as Kim-Min Jae and Frank Zambo Anguissa, both disqualified.

Along with in-form winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Osimhen will have to instill fear in the opponents, who will start the match with a 1-goal advantage.
