AC Milan’s Serie A-winning coach Alberto Zaccheroni is ‘in intensive care with a head injury after a fall at his home in Cesenatico’

Former AC Milan manager Alberto Zaccheroni is in intensive care with a head injury after a fall at his home in Cesenatico, according to reports.
The incident occurred on Friday afternoon, with Zaccheroni hitting his head on the ground.
At the time of the serious accident, Zaccheroni’s wife Franca and their son Luca’s girlfriend were also in the house, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
They promptly called an ambulance, with paramedics finding Zaccheroni lying unconscious by a staircase when they arrived.
He was swiftly transported to Bufalini hospital in Cesena following the incident.

Zaccheroni famously led AC Milan to Serie A glory in 1998-99, pipping Lazio to the title
Zaccheroni is now conscious in hospital, but doctors are still trying to determine whether a sudden illness could have caused the fall.
Medical checks are continuing, with Zaccheroni’s prognosis remaining confidential for now.
The 69-year-old had a long and illustrious coaching career which lasted over three decades, having first started in the dugout in 1983 with Cesenatico.
His finest moment came in the 1998-99 season when he led AC Milan to the scudetto, as they pipped Lazio on the final day.
He would go on to manage Milan’s city rivals Inter, as well as Lazio and Juventus, before guiding Japan to Asian Cup glory in 2011.
His latest managerial role saw him take charge of the United Arab Emirates national team between 2017 and 2019.
