A busy summer of transfer activity finally comes to a head on Thursday as several clubs look to strengthen their squads further.
We have seen the Premier League's biggest clubs splash out on superstars like Erling Haaland (Manchester City), Darwin Nunez (Liverpool), Gabriel Jesus (Arsenal), Richarlison (Tottenham) and Raheem Sterling (Chelsea). While the likes of Newcastle and West Ham have also bolstered their sides by signing Alexander Isak and Lucas Paqueta, respectively.
But with the transfer window closing at 11pm for English clubs in line with other European leagues, we expect to see some last ditch signings across Euope as clubs become more desperate to sign and flog players. Daily Star Sport brings you seven of the biggest transfers that could be completed on the final day.
Layvin Kurzawa – Fulham
The out of favour Paris Saint-Germain defender could be set for a first stint away from France with Fulham submitting a bid for the left-back. Kurzawa is understood to have agreed personal terms with the west London club despite having not played a single game for the Ligue 1 champions in over a year.
Leandro Paredes – Juventus
Another PSG deadline day exit is likely to be Argentine midfielder Leandro Paredes. It comes following the agreement of personal terms between the 28-year-old and Serie A giants Juventus, with only a fee left to be agreed between the two clubs.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – Chelsea
Do you think Chelsea will sign a striker on deadline day? Let us know in the comments section.
Chelsea are still considering signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Barcelona but are apprehensive about his age (33) and his high salary. The club made a proposal worth £15million ($17.6m) to sign the former Gunners striker earlier this month, though they are yet to reach an agreement with Barcelona or personal terms with the player.
Youri Tielemans – Arsenal
Arsenal could finally be forced to splash out on Leicester midfielder Youri Tielemans after the Athletic reported a lengthy injury to Mohamed Elneny this week. The Gunners had been unwilling to match his £35-40m price-tag due to his contract running out next summer but injuries may force their hand on deadline day.
Keylor Navas – Napoli
Three-time Champions League winner Keylor Navas is set to join Napoli after being displaced by Gianluigi Donnarumma. Talks between PSG and Napoli are ongoing in a deal for the Costa Rican goalkeeper, while Fabián Ruiz goes the opposite way.
Cristiano Ronaldo – Chelsea
Cristiano Ronaldo is still believed to be angling for a move away from Man Utd as his agent Jorge Mendes meets with potential suitors. Chelsea are believed to be the 37-year-old's preferred destination due to the allure of playing Champions League football again, though the Blues were reported to have turned down the Portuguese legend already this summer.
Cody Gakpo – Southampton
PSV forward Cody Gakpo was strongly linked with a Man Utd move before the Red Devils signed Antony. But the 23-year-old Dutchman is still being pursued by Southampton, Leeds United and Everton, with the Saints having had a concrete bid turned down.
