Axed Bryson DeChambeau is still playing with Bridgestone ball at The Open as he admits he ‘loves’ the manufacturer… despite company severing ties following American’s controversial switch to LIV series

  • Bryson DeChambeau, 28, has declared that he still loves his ball manufacturer
  • However, Bridgestone ended their relationship with him on the eve of The Open 
  • They made the decision after DeChambeau made his LIV tour announcement
  • DeChambeau and several other golf stars have decided to sign up to the LIV tour 
  • DeChambeau has seen his Bridgestone sponsorship end due to his involvement 

Bryson DeChambeau declared that he still loves his ball manufacturer, despite them ending their relationship with him on the eve of The Open.

The American used the Bridgestone ball on Thursday on his way to a three-under 69 even though the two parties have gone through a supposedly amicable divorce.

The company announced on Wednesday that it would no longer be formally associated with him due to his ties with the Saudi-backed LIV project that has ripped the professional game apart.

‘I love them. I love what they do,’ said DeChambeau, who has a strong interest in product development. 

‘I still will hopefully continue to have conversations with the research and development team all the time. 

‘I’ve given them five or six different little things that have helped improve the ball. And hopefully will continue to do so.’

Bridgestone had said they could no longer continue the partnership because of their commercial ties with the PGA Tour. DeChambeau is one of several LIV players who have had their endorsements paused or terminated.
