Logan Paul has declared that his proposed fight with controversial internet star Andrew Tate collapsed due to Tate wanting ‘warm-up fights’ before facing him. The pair had talked up a potential showdown a few months ago but communication dropped after Tate’s request.

“Brother, I’ve got contenders. The issue is a lot of them like to talk. A lot of them like to talk and don’t actually like to sign on the dotted line.,” Paul told The Daily Mail.

“We ran into that issue with Andrew Tate, he wants warm-up fights. I saw a thing recently, he accused me of doing steroids which historically has been the accusation that people throw if they’re threatened by me. I’ve been accused of doing steroids my whole life just because I have muscles and genetically it is a little easier for me to get in shape for whatever reason.

“But never done them, never will, and I find that a lot of the people that I would like to fight because I know how big the shows can get, simply just wanna talk. They want that clout online and they don’t actually want to sign the dotted lines.

“So I’ve got a contender in mind, I hope he comes through, I don’t want to say who it is just yet because you have one shot at a first impression. But whatever happens, it’s gonna be crazy.”

Paul has been out of the ring since June 2021 when he went the eight-round distance with Floyd Mayweather in an exhibition bout at the Hard Rock Stadium. The YouTube star has since made the transition to professional wrestling and is currently competing for industry leaders WWE.

Paul is set to collide with Universal Champion Roman Reigns at the Crown Jewel PPV on November 5 in his biggest match to date. However, despite his skyrocketing popularity in WWE, the ex-Disney actor is hoping to return to the boxing ring in January of next year on the same card as business partner KSI.

‘Yeah man, we’ve got a lot going on. January 14th I will be fighting on the same card as KSI – my friend and now business partner in crime.

‘And the answer is yeah, I wanted to stay active. I feel so much momentum in my life right now and not just me, my brother [Jake], who is my family, my bloodline, he’s boxing and doing an amazing job there. I’m doing the best I can in the WWE and hopefully, I’m gonna initiate a takeover of sorts.”
