Derek Chisora could not help himself from mocking Tottenham in their own stadium after Thursday’s press conference to promote his upcoming trilogy fight with long-time rival Tyson Fury. The all-British bout is set to take place on December 3 and will see a renewal of hostilities between Chisora and Fury, who have previously fought twice with the latter winning on both occasions.

The third and final instalment will be held at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which played host to Anthony Joshua’s first fight against Oleksandr Usyk last year. Chisora and Fury were in attendance on Thursday for the opening press conference and Del Boy, who is a lifelong Manchester United fan, took the opportunity to poke fun at Tottenham after the Red Devils’ win over them on Wednesday.

“Tottenham sucks!” screamed Chisora across the pitch from one of the stands, with his comical outburst being caught on camera and posted to Twitter. It remains to be seen if he will be able to do himself and United proud by securing the biggest win of his career over Fury on December 3, with a crowd of more than 60,000 expected to be present for the fight.

Chisora will go into the event as a huge underdog, though, after losing at the hands of Fury back in 2011 and again in 2014. The first fight resulted in a unanimous points decision that went Fury’s way, while the Gypsy King managed to secure a comfortable victory after 10 rounds in their second meeting three years later.

Fury insisted on Thursday that he will be wary of the threat posed by Chisora in December, though, as he looks to register his third win over the big-punching 38-year-old to successfully defend his WBC heavyweight title once again.

“In terms of selling Derek Chisora to the fans, I ain’t gotta sell nothing to nobody,” said Fury, who remains unbeaten in 33 professional fights. “You offer [the fight] to him, boom, he’s sat here. He’s got balls.

“If he lands a punch on me, a big swing, I’m getting knocked out. If I land a punch on him, a big swing, he’s getting knocked out. Someone’s getting chinned.

“I can beat anybody in the world, always have been able to, and always will be able to. There’s nobody that can touch me. I’m in a league of my own, I believe, but he did very well against Oleksandr Usyk [in a decision loss in 2020].

“I rate Derek Chisora as highly as I rate Usyk, and I will train as hard for Derek as I would for anyone in the world. I’d have to be an idiot not to.”
