Conor McGregor flaunts hand speed during in-ring training ahead of UFC return

Conor McGregor showed off his hand speed in training ahead of his sensation return to the UFC.

The Irish fighter, 33, posted a clip of him in the ring at the Crumlin Boxing Club – and he clearly looks in tiptop condition ahead of his comeback to the Octagon. It’s been a long, hard year out for the MMA star, having had to contend with a snapped leg at the end of round one in his third encounter against Dustin Poirier last summer.

It’s been 365 days of rehabilitation as he looks to get back into peak condition, as a return draws near. McGregor – who has recently spent the summer enjoying time away with his fiancee Dee Devlin and their three children – has been called out by the likes of Jorge Masvidal and ex-lightweight champion Charles Oliveira, but ultimately his next opponent has not been decided yet.

Meanwhile, an exhibition fight with Floyd Mayweather has been rumoured, some five years after their bout in which he lost to the American.

Indeed, veteran Masvidal is eyeing up a contest with Irishman, saying that he would be willing to defend his custom-made belt in return for a big-money purse. Masvidal said on BlockAsset: “I’d bring out the BMF belt only for a bad motherf***er and some cash money.

Can McGregor turn around his career? Let us know in the comments section below.

“You a bad motherf***er and you got some money? Let’s put some money. Let’s get a little escrow going, you know? I put a couple million aside, you put a couple million aside, and it comes with the belt. It’s a cherry on top.

"That’s what a bad motherf***er would do is get this money. So it’s there, you know, but it has to be right, under my stipulations and with that belt, I’m like a f***ing tyrant.”

Masvidal has endured something of a rough time recently, with defeats to UFC champion Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington.
