WAGs of LIV Golf stars throw shade at PGA Tour rivals as petty row turns feisty

The wives and girlfriends of LIV Golf stars have throw shade at their PGA Tour rivals as their petty feud turns feisty.

Players from both tours have continued to aim sly digs at each other since golf stars began defecting to the Saudi-backed LIV Golf series earlier this year. However, their partners now appear to have joined in the feud after Ashley Perez, the wife of LIV player Pat, commented on an Instagram post by Nikki Guidish, who is engaged to Patrick Cantlay of the PGA Tour.

Guidish shared a series of snaps from a recent trip to Napa County, California with Xander Schauffele and his wife, Maya, with the caption: “Good win, better company.”

According to the New York Post, Perez claimed the trip looked like a snoozefest before deleting her comments. “I’m sorry," she wrote along with a "zzz's" emoji. "That doesn’t look like fun… at all"

The feud between the tours and their players has intensified in recent days, with stars from both LIV and the PGA playing at the DP World Tour's BMW PGA Championship this weekend.

Prior to play getting underway at the Wentworth Club in Surrey, a group of LIV players had a "tense" meeting with DP World Tour CEO Keith Pelley, according to news.com. The group is said to have included Sergio Garcia, Lee Westwood and Ian Poulter.

Meanwhile, recent LIV defector Cameron Smith has had his membership and parking spot at TPC Sawgrass in Florida revoked after joining the tour.

The membership and parking spot are awarded as perks for winners of the Players Championship, which Smith won for the first time back in March.

Smith's move to LIV last month has been slammed by golf fans, who have labelled his decision "crazy" after he was confirmed as one of the latest stars to sign with the tour.
