Tennis star Eugenie Bouchard poses in swimsuit and drives boat on Caribbean trip

Canadian tennis star Eugenie Bouchard continues to dazzle her followers on social media after a rocky return to the tennis scene in 2022.

The 28-year-old is once again competing at the top level after missing 17 months following shoulder surgery in 2021. The comeback hasn't been quite as seamless as many would have hoped, however, winning just six of her 15 matches on the WTA circuit since returning to action in mid-August.

And after wrapping up her season with appearances in Mexico and the United States, a Caribbean trip was just what the doctor ordered. Bouchard is very active on Instagram and provided fans with snapshots of her bikini-clad self enjoying the sun and even driving a boat in an idyllic setting.

Who are you backing to dominate women's tennis in 2023? Let us know in the comments section.

The 2014 Wimbledon finalist has been putting her feet up in Turks and Caicos, a collection of islands just north of the Dominican Republic and east of Cuba. There, she's been taking in the white sands and clear waters while enjoying lavish meals, marking the perfect way to end a testing year in tennis.

And her followers were quick to salute the Montreal native on what appeared to be a dreamy trip to such a distant locale. With Thanksgiving being celebrated in the United States on Thursday, one fan commented on a picture of Bouchard clinging to a palm tree: "Gonna tell my family this is what I'm thankful for this year."

Fellow tennis star Jessica Pegula wrote "Pretty!" underneath a snap of her peer looking glam in a dress while out to dinner. Others filled the comments section with heart-eye emojis and love hearts, showing their appreciation for Bouchard's frequent updates.

Bouchard recently went viral after appearing on the Golf, Mostly podcast, where a sketch artist attempted to draw her ideal man. The end product didn't come out as hoped, however, and ended up looking like a 'serial killer' instead.

While there are many positives to be gleaned from such an active life online, Bouchard has conceded there are downsides, too. She has been very open with fans in the past and even dated some people she's met online—both via auction and after losing a bet—but that openness can come at a cost.

"There are many positive things on social media and basically, when you have enemies, it means that you are making something in your life," Bouchard previously told CNN. "However, it is important not to return the hatred they sometimes give you and you should not respond to disrespectful criticism."
